Morrissey spawns a monster.

Morrissey pulled a Dixie Chicks and complained about Bush at a concert. Ok, not so much complained as said that he wished Bush had died instead of Reagan. Well, Morrissey’s not an American citizen (as far as I know) and he’s certainly entitled to his own opinion.

However, this does raise the question — if Morrissey was a Kerry supporter (and he might be a Nader boy), which song would be a suitable campaign song? This will be a fun game. “November Spawned a Monster”? Nah. “The Last Of The Famous International Playboys”? No, reminds too many people of Clinton. “Everyday is Like Sunday”? — No, we can’t really sing “Come, Come, Come – nuclear bomb.”

How about “Margaret on the Guillotine” — the not-at-all disguised threat to Margaret Thatcher? What better way to combat the Reagan-deification on the right? “Cause people like you / Make me feel so tired.”
