The burglary channel

On my TV, I could watch actual break-ins and other crimes. I had a three-ring binder with a log of what was going to happen. I had the time, weapon involved/crime, drugs involved, address, and happy face symbol indicating outcome. But this dream was interrupted by the following fragment.

I was on the phone with Aali. Then there was a horrible rumble and the sound of his phone dying. I think my phone hit the wall and both lines were disconnected. Aali asked me if I was still there and I noticed I had the cordless phone on, down by my feet. I got the phone; the earth stopped rumbling. I opened my blinds and nothing looked extraordinary. I just couldn’t speak. It was such a struggle to get out “what’s happening?” I was quite disturbed by the earth’s rumbing. (This part could have been real, although the earth rumbling was probably a trash truck or something.)

I then returned to my earlier dream. I turned the page of the three-ring binder. On the TV, a dark figure ran zigzag between trees in the fron yard. It was an animated dog and big animated letters popped out on the screen: “FALA/NALA: The Adventures of a Dog.” It was an ad for a show on NBC. I turned the page in my binder. The time given was 6:57 am. The crime? Break-in with gun. The man was “high on delirium.” The happy face was moaning with pain with blood running down its face. It sounded like a “good one.” Then I remembered it was real life and wondered what precautions had been taken. The address told me it was in a lower-class neighborhood. I hypothesized about whether the victim and burglar knew each other.
