The security system guy

December 17th, 2001

I discovered new rooms in my basement (again), only this time it was blank unfinished basement, though loaded with jigsaw puzzles and toys. There was an awful lot of styrofoam too. I went to set the security system, but I couldn’t remember the last four digits of my phone number which, in the dream, was my code. So it went off and I knew the police were going to come and I’d have a false alarm on my “permanent record.” I called the security system guy who had checked everything. Instead of actually handling the situation, he just came by and picked me up, then we went for a drive.

Nightmares about eye charts

November 20th, 2001

I made vaguely cryptic notes this morning after waking up, but I’m still not completely clear on all the details.

I was living at my grandpa’s house with my mom and Mari, and there was something about “leaving the house for the first time when Nightline comes on.” I was rinsing dust off the brown pants I rarely wear when a person from high school, long forgotten until I saw her picture again in the midst of packing, showed up.

I also told people (in a dream) about nightmares I had been having about eye charts. There were loud dogs outside and another psycho man running around and I just murmured, “I knew I didn’t want to live on the southwest side of town.”

Housewarming

November 13th, 2001

I replied to someone in an E-mail that she didn’t have to buy me a food dehydrator for $30 as a housewarming gift. She could just keep it.

Status report

September 15th, 2001

Yes, it’s been awhile. I’ve been slightly busy and am getting used to a new sleep schedule.

I can’t really remember much about my dreams lately. I know I had nightmares about my digital camera being permanently damaged. There were the usual decompression dreams, replaying scenes from work, etc.

Spies

August 5th, 2001

I only vaguely remember my dreams last night, and even if I could, I’m not sure I would be able to follow them. I had hopelessly complicated dreams about spies because I fell asleep listening to the audio commentary track of Hitchcock‘s The 39 Steps.

Framing

July 30th, 2001

I woke up, hit the snooze alarm, and flipped over, thinking, “I know how I’ll pin the murder on her now.”

Skywriting

July 11th, 2001

There was a television show about skywriting that I wanted to make a habit of watching, but it was never on at the same time so I couldn’t plan a schedule around it. I wasn’t interested enough to think about taping it however.
